VIXX kepanjangan dari Voice, Visual, Value in Excelsis merupakan boy-group bentukan Jellyfish Entertainment di tahun 2012. Agensi yang sama yang juga menaungi nama-nama besar seperti jebolan Superstar K Seo In-guk, penyanyi ballad Sung Si Kyung dan Park Hyo Shin. VIXX sendiri terbentuk dari idol survival show di kanal Mnet berjudul MyDol hingga akhirnya menyisihkan 6 member tetap yakni N (Cha Hae-kyon), Leo (Jung Tae-kwoon), Ken (Lee Jae-hwan), Ravi (Kim Won-shik), Hongbin (Lee Hongbin) dan maknae Hyuk (Han Sanghyuk). Sebelum official debut beberapa member sempat tampil dalam project senior-nya. Tak berlama-lama, VIXX memulai debut mereka pada pertengahan tahun yang sama dengan merilis single Superhero. Sebuah lagu yang terdengar seru dan cukup adiktif. Tiga bulan berselang mereka merilis single keduanya Rock Ur Body yang sama enerjik-nya dengan single pertama. Sebelum merilis single ketiga, di akhir tahun VIXX turut berpartisipasi dalam album Jellyfish Christmas 2012 Heart Project bersama senior mereka. Di tahun 2013 VIXX terlebih dahulu merilis single Don't Want to be an Idol baru kemudian merilis On and On. Kedua lagu tersebut dirilis dalam satu single album. Lewat single ketiganya ini VIXX mulai menerapkan 'konsep' yang selanjutnya menjadi trademark di setiap penampilan grup berikutnya. VIXX sangatlah aktif secara grup maupun personal dengan merilis single/mini album setiap tahun termasuk sub-unit, mengisi soundtrack, perilisan album Jepang dan single Chinese serta loyal berinteraksi dengan fans melalui kanal VIXX TV di Youtube, V-App dan Fancafe. Setiap member juga disibukkan dengan kegiatan solo project seperti song producing, musikal hingga merambah ke dunia akting, drama dan film.

Before the official debut, several members had appeared in their senior projects. It's just a short warming until VIXX had their official debut by released single Superhero. A song that sounds fun and quite addictive in beat. Three months later, they released second single Rock Ur Body which has same energetic vibe from their first single. Before another single coming out, VIXX is also participated in the Christmas 2012 album Heart Project Jellyfish along with their seniors. Then in 2013 VIXX comeback with pre-released single Do not Want to be an Idol and followed with On and On. Both songs are released in one single -album. Through the single On and On, VIXX began to apply a 'concept' which then became their trademark in any further performances. VIXX is also very active as group or in personal with such releasing single/ album every year, including having sub-unit, recording for soundtrack, released Chinese, Japanese single/album. To grown the popularity, they faithful to keep interaction with fans through VIXX TV on Youtube channel, V-App and Fancafe. Each member also busy with solo project activities such as musicals even penetrated their talents for acting, drama production and film.
